So what's it like? What's Kenya like? What's Nairobi like? 

I've been asked this question many times so far by friends and family. I want to preface this blog entry with a statement that, thus far, I've been living very much the expat lifestyle and haven't explored more than 5% of what Nairobi, let alone Kenya has had to offer. Circumstance relating to housing, travel and security has kept me in a relatively narrow area of Nairobi while I 'learn the ropes'. That said, the only way I can describe it is: different. So far, I've been able to find everything I could want, save Monocle magazine (but I have a lead on that). There's great coffee, good food that's relatively inexpensive and all the ingredients you could need to make Mexican food.
